Company: Mortara Instrument Inc
Location: Milwaukee
Founded in: 1982
What they do: Mortara designs, develops and manufactures diagnostic electrocardiography devices for in-hospital and personal use.
How they’re growing: Mortara recently broke ground on a new expansion project at its manufacturing facility, which includes 64,000 square feet in additional space for the air-conditioned, high-tech facility. The expansion will also allow the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations to return to the same location, after being separated for lack of space.
Part of a larger growth plan for Mortara, this expansion and future additions will create more than 150 jobs over the next five years. To help facilitate the project, WEDC awarded the company up to $700,000 in state tax credits over five years, contingent upon Mortara meeting job creation and wage level requirements.
What they’re saying:
“I am proud of our continued growth and our increasing prominence in the market and in our community. We’re excited to further invest in our community and truly live out our promise that all Mortara products are – ‘Built with Pride in Milwaukee.’”
– Justin Mortara, CEO of Mortara Instrument Inc.
