WMC Calls on Gov. Tony Evers to Sign Middle Class Tax Cut into Law

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) lauded the Senate’s passage of a middle class tax cut, and called on Gov. Tony Evers to sign the bill into law. The legislation passed on Tuesday by the Assembly and Wednesday by the Senate would provide tax relief to Wisconsin’s middle-income earners without raising taxes on thousands of manufactures throughout the state.

After the legislation’s approval, WMC’s Director of Tax, Transportation and Legal Affairs Cory Fish released the following the statement:

“Wisconsin’s economy is booming and our state’s finances are in great shape. We do not need to raise taxes on manufacturers and small businesses to cut taxes for middle class Wisconsinites. Our state has a significant surplus, and it should be returned to the taxpayers who earned it in the first place. Now is the time for bipartisanship, and we hope Gov. Evers will sign the tax cut he promised during his campaign into law.”
