Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce has again launched its Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin Contest. Kurt Bauer, President & CEO of the organization, joins Jonathan Krausse to preview this year’s competition.
Bauer says the contest’s purpose is to highlight manufacturing, and 25 other states now run similar programs.
“From our perspective, finding a winner is secondary,” Bauer said. “The whole point is to promote manufacturing, which is Wisconsin’s number one economic sector.”
WMC is currently accepting nominations through September 12. Anyone can submit a product at www.madeinwis.com. Once all nominations are announced, voting will be open to the public in a popular vote round, then in subsequent head-to-head matchups in the Manufacturing Madness tournament. The winner will ultimately be named on October 23.
