WMC Foundation Receives “Friend of WEBIT” Award

MADISON – WMC Foundation – an affiliate of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – received the “Friend of WEBIT” Award at the 2019 WEBIT and WMEA Annual Fall Convention in Fond du Lac on October 24.

Wade Goodsell, Executive Director of WMC Foundation and Michelle Grajkowski, Director of Wisconsin Business World were recipients of the 2019 Friends of WEBIT award.

The Friends of WEBIT award is given annually to an outside organization or individual who works closely with the Wisconsin Educators of Business and Information Technology to support and contribute to the advancement of business education across the state of Wisconsin.

“It is an honor to be recognized by WEBIT for our commitment to business education,” Grajkowski said. “WMC Foundation led the formation of the Wisconsin Coalition of Business, Economic and Financial Literacy in 2018, giving leading business organizations a quarterly opportunity to connect, collaborate and further enhance business education for Wisconsin students.”

Coalition member organizations include Wisconsin Educators of Business & Information Technology (WEBIT), Wisconsin Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Wisconsin DECA, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Secure Futures, EconomicsWisconsin (EW), Asset Builders, Wisconsin Marketing Educators Association (WMEA), the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) and WMC Foundation.

“We are both appreciative of the recognition from WEBIT, but also thankful for their partnership. When the coalition was launched we believed that a quarterly connection point between like-minded organizations was the best way to collaborate and identify best practices without duplicity, in order to better serve students and steward donor resources,” Goodsell said.  “We are excited to continue to educate Wisconsin high school students about the free enterprise system, business being a force for good and the economic opportunities in front of them. Our partnership with WEBIT enhances our ability to do that.”
