Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce said it’s optimistic about the state’s continued growth in manufacturing jobs.
Scott Manley, the organization’s Vice President of Government Relations, said a recent report from Wisconsin Policy Forum noting that the state had lost manufacturing jobs “missed the mark a little bit.”
Manley said he thinks Wisconsin’s right-to-work law is driving job growth in our state.
He said, while some manufacturing jobs are lost and not returning, like at auto plants in Kenosha and Janesville, the industry as a whole has bounced back consistently from the recession in 2008 and 2009.
Manley said manufacturers around the state also rapidly rebounded from the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
