MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber of commerce and manufacturers’ association – presented Representative Benjamin Franklin with the organization’s prestigious Working for Wisconsin Award. Rep. Franklin was honored for his support of initiatives to better Wisconsin’s economic climate during the 2025-2026 legislative session.
The Working for Wisconsin Award recognizes state legislators who demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing policies that support economic growth, job creation, and a competitive business climate in the state.
“Wisconsin’s economic success depends on leaders who are willing to champion policies that encourage investment, innovation, and job creation,” said WMC President/CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “The recipients of this year’s Working for Wisconsin Award have demonstrated a commitment to strengthening our state’s business climate and ensuring Wisconsin is competitive for employers, workers, and entrepreneurs.”
The Working for Wisconsin Award is based on individual voting records, regardless of a legislator’s political affiliation. Legislators who earn the award each session support pro-growth policies and reforms aimed at improving the state’s business climate. All Wisconsin legislators are considered for the award, but it is only earned by those who consistently vote to make Wisconsin a better place to do business.
“Rep. Franklin is committed to making Wisconsin competitive; we are fortunate for his leadership in growing our economy and improving the business climate,” added WMC Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley. “We look forward to our continued work with Rep. Franklin to make Wisconsin the best state to live, work, and play.”
Working for Wisconsin Award winners must receive at least a 70 percent rating on the WMC Legislative Scorecard. Franklin was presented with the Working for Wisconsin Award on July 27, at Amerilux in De Pere.
