Robert Badman

Rob Badman serves as Deputy Director of the WMC Litigation Center. Before joining the Litigation Center, he clerked for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Brian Hagedorn, published legal scholarship on First Amendment issues, and gained litigation experience through positions with the West Virginia Solicitor General’s Office and a private law firm.

During his clerkship with Justice Hagedorn, the court heard cases involving open records law, medical malpractice, administrative law, government regulation, and state and federal constitutional issues. His article on First Amendment jurisprudence was published in the Texas A&M Journal of Law & Civil Governance.

As an intern with the West Virginia Solicitor General’s Office, Rob assisted in litigation defending the State of West Virginia against federal executive policies. At the private firm, he worked on matters involving tort law, governmental and private immunity, and civil procedure.

Rob earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Ave Maria School of Law in 2024, where he graduated first in his class and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Ave Maria Law Review. He also graduated with honors from the Schreyer Honors College and the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Before law school, Rob held business and nonprofit leadership roles with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, and Kohl’s.
