WMC Comments on State Compensation Reforms

MADISON– Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce today praised Governor Scott Walker’s administration for proposing state worker pay reforms that more closely resemble private sector pay. The pay plan was introduced in the wake of phasing out of collective bargaining with some state unions.

“It is encouraging to see Governor Walker propose wage reforms for government employees that more closely resemble what is typical in the private sector. The savings from eliminating overtime abuse will be significant, and the increased emphasis on merit pay will encourage greater efficiency in government.”
