Craig Summerfield Promoted to WMC’s Senior Director of Environmental & Energy Policy

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association – announced Thursday that Craig Summerfield was promoted to Senior Director of Environmental & Energy Policy. Summerfield joined WMC’s government relations team in 2021 after spending over a decade in the State Capitol.

“Craig continues to be a critical resource for our members on environmental and energy issues,” said WMC Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley. “We are thrilled to have him in this elevated role as he works to improve the state’s business climate.”

Prior to joining WMC, Summerfield spent nearly 15 years working in the State Legislature, including time as a policy advisor in the Assembly Speaker’s office and chief of staff in the State Senate.

“Wisconsin has led the country on important regulatory reforms, but there is more to do,” added Summerfield. “I am proud to amplify my efforts to help make Wisconsin the best state in the nation to do business.”

Summerfield holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history, and earned his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
