WMC Statement on Gov. Evers’ Tax Cut Veto

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) President & CEO Kurt Bauer released the following statement on Thursday after Gov. Tony Evers vetoed a tax cut for hard-working, middle class Wisconsinites:

“This was an opportunity for Gov. Evers to prove he actually wants to reach across the aisle and work in a bipartisan manner. Unfortunately, instead of a willingness to find compromise, the governor is intent on raising taxes on manufacturers – the industry that built and sustains our state’s middle class. The legislature has already said raising taxes on job creators is a non-starter, but it seems to be ‘my way or the highway’ for Gov. Evers. We hope this is not a sign of things to come, and we reaffirm our willingness to work with the Evers’ Administration to find common ground.”
