WMC’s Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Craig Summerfield testified in favor of legislation that would prohibit a state agency or local government from banning gas-powered engines in motor vehicles or other equipment such as a lawnmower, snow blower, or leaf blower.
Multiple states have passed or are considering bans on the sale of gas-powered cars. In Wisconsin, Governor Evers has set a goal to transition most Wisconsin vehicles to be electric within two decades, which far exceeds current projections and may be impossible to achieve without new government mandates.
