WMC Praises Revised Job Creation Report

MADISON – The state’s largest business association today praised a new report that found Wisconsin created 23,000 jobs in 2011, along with 10,000 created in 2012, because it confirms what business leaders have been reporting over the last 18 months.
“This is great news for our state, and it sets the record straight from previous inaccurate reports that showed the state had lost jobs. WMC members have been telling us that business is improving and they are hiring, but the federal data seemed inconsistent with those facts,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO. He went on to say “the revised numbers appear to more accurately reflect the real job creation that is occurring in Wisconsin.”
Bauer said that “Wisconsin is headed in the right direction under the reforms delivered by Governor Scott Walker – tax cuts, a balanced budget, regulation reform, and lawsuit reform. We are seeing job creation, and renewed enthusiasm from employers about creating jobs in our state.”
