Wisconsin Safety Council Celebrates June as National Safety Month

MADISON – Wisconsin Safety Council – the state’s leading provider of safety training and products – is once again partnering with the National Safety Council to recognize June as National Safety Month. Throughout the month, Wisconsin Safety Council will engage its members with public and private training programs, conduct a social media campaign and educate the public on how to stay safe at work, at home and everywhere in between.

“While we all have taken extra steps like social distancing and frequent handwashing to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to also think about how to avoid other risks in the workplace,” said Wisconsin Safety Council Executive Director Aaron Huebner. “From preventing potential slips, trips and falls to minding moving vehicles and machinery, there are a number of steps everyone can take to create a safer work environment.”

Whether on the manufacturing shop floor, at a construction site, working in an office or working from home, employers and employees can work together to prevent incidents before they start.

During National Safety Month, Wisconsin Safety Council will focus on a new topic each week:

  • Week 1:

    Preventing Incidents Before They Start

  • Week 2:

    Addressing Ongoing COVID-19 Concerns

  • Week 3:

    Feeling Safe on the Job

  • Week 4:

    Advancing Your Safety Journey

Each week, Wisconsin Safety Council will release helpful information through its multiple social media platforms related to each topic.

“Wisconsin Safety Council looks forward to highlighting a variety of topics throughout the month,” added Huebner. “While we celebrate June as National Safety Month, it is important to remember that safety should be a top priority all year long.”

To help celebrate, Gov. Tony Evers proclaimed June as National Safety Month in Wisconsin. His proclamation is available by clicking here.
