Kari Hofer and Nick Novak Join the WMC Team

Madison
– Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) announced Tuesday that it added two new members to its staff. Kari Hofer will serve as the new Executive Director of the WMC Foundation, and Nick Novak will be WMC’s new Director of Communications and Marketing.
“The breadth of experience that both Kari and Nick bring to WMC will help us better serve our members and Wisconsin’s business community,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO. “We are beyond excited to have them on our team.”
Hofer joins the WMC Foundation after serving as the Finance Director for U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s successful 2016 reelection campaign. Previously, she worked as the Finance Director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin and Hawaii Republican Party, as well as Deputy Finance Director for Linda Lingle’s 2012 U.S. Senate bid. Hofer grew up in Tomah, Wisconsin, graduated from UW-Madison with a BA in Communication Arts and Political Science, and earned her MBA in 2015.
“It is with great enthusiasm that I take on my new role with the WMC Foundation,” Hofer said. “The Foundation plays a critical role providing economic and safety education for our state’s educators, industry professionals and future business leaders. I look forward to continuing the growth of the Foundation and building a better future for Wisconsin.”
Novak joins WMC after serving as Director of Marketing and Communications for Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin. Previously, he was Director of Communications at The John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy, served in various roles on a number of political campaigns and worked in Gov. Scott Walker’s official office. Novak was born in the Chicago area, and grew up in southeastern Wisconsin. He graduated from UW-Madison with a BA in Economics and Political Science.
“I am delighted to be working with such a top-notch organization,” Novak added. “WMC has been steadfast in highlighting the importance of free markets, emphasizing the rewarding careers available in manufacturing and telling the state’s business success stories. I am eager to add to this in 2017 as we develop new and innovative ways to underscore the impact of manufacturing and other industries in Wisconsin.”
