Company: Viking Masek Global Packaging Technologies, Inc.
Location: Oostburg
Founded in: 2004
What they do: Viking Masek specializes in manufacturing packaging machinery.
How they’re growing: Viking Masek is the midst of a large-scale, two-phase expansion of its Oostburg facility. Phase I consists of a 20,000 square foot addition onto its existing 34,000 square foot facility to meet the demand for more space for production and administrative use. The cost of the addition is projected to be $1.2 million and the company is planning to add 17 positions over the next two years.
The overarching goal of Phase I is to grow to a level that will warrant the addition of a base manufacturing facility here in Wisconsin, as currently, the base machine manufacturing is done in the Czech Republic. Phase II is projected to include another expansion of the Oostburg facility to accommodate manufacturing operations as a joint venture with the company’s Czech manufacturing partner after sales have reached the level that can justify the expansion. This level is expected to be reached in two years, at which point, Viking Masek will move forward with Phase II: an addition of another 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space and the creation of up to 40 new positions.
What they’re saying: “We have been successful in recruiting, hiring, and growing our team with individuals that possess integrity, intelligence, and ambition. It is each and every member of our team that makes our organization’s success a reality.” – Robb Leonhard, vice president and owner of Viking Masek
