MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the state chamber of commerce – each year partners with local chambers from across the state to celebrate September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin. Throughout the month, WMC and its affiliate organization, Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE), will lead the charge in highlighting and celebrating the crucial role chambers play in business advocacy, strengthening the economy, providing resources to professionals, promoting tourism and connecting local communities.
“Wisconsin is home to more than 265 local chambers that are cornerstones in their local communities, providing necessary support to small and large businesses alike. That support, in turn, fosters our state’s economic wellbeing and growth,” said WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “Chambers are foundational to the success of Wisconsin.”
Gov. Tony Evers, at the request of WCCE, proclaimed September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin, stating, “This month, the state of Wisconsin joins all Wisconsinites in commending the local chambers of commerce across the state that make Wisconsin a better place to live, work , raise a family, own a business, and more.”
WCCE promotes business and a competitive business climate in Wisconsin by educating and equipping local chambers of commerce professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to advocate for and promote pro-business policies at the local, state, and federal levels of government.
“Chambers of commerce fuel stronger communities by championing business, building connections, and driving growth,” said WCCE Chairman and Fox Cities Chamber President and CEO Becky Bartoszek. “Across Wisconsin, chambers are delivering real results for local enterprises and creating places where both businesses and people thrive. Chamber of Commerce Month is the moment to recognize and celebrate that impact.”
Throughout the month, chambers will celebrate through a variety of activities, including events, social media campaigns, member outreach and more. The month’s celebration will culminate at the WCCE Annual Conference & Retreat, held Sept. 22-24 in Green Lake.
