Venue of Tax Appeals

Previous Wisconsin law allowed appeals to decisions of the Tax Appeals Commission regarding income and franchise tax or the real estate transfer fee can be made in the circuit court of the county in which a taxpayer is headquartered, owns other property, or does business, rather than in Dane County circuit court.
The 2013-15 state budget allows sales and use tax and manufacturing property assessment appeals to also be filed outside of Dane County circuit court as previously allowed for income tax and the real estate transfer fee.
