Business World was started in 1982 by Wisconsin business leaders who saw a need for the next generation to learn about the importance of the free enterprise system. This message is just as important today as it was 30 years ago. Since its inception, Business World has educated more than 20,000 students. The current program goal is 200 students per program, for a total of 400 students per summer.

The students pay a nominal fee to attend the program ($300), but more than $225,000 is needed each year to run this important program. This money is donated by Wisconsin’s businesses, private foundations, local chambers of commerce, and individuals. Without their help, Wisconsin Business World would not be possible.

The WMC Foundation

Business World is a program of the WMC Foundation. The WMC Foundation is the non-profit educational arm of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, which is the state chamber of commerce and the state manufacturers association. The WMC membership and board of directors are strong supporters of Business World.
