Ogletree LogoWisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Ogletree Deakins will present the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Human Resources Professional of the Year Awards in August 2019. Applications for the awards will be available in late spring 2019.

The awards are given annually to human resource professionals who are employed full-time in the HR profession within the State of Wisconsin and demonstrate HR leadership. Government employees are not eligible, but may nominate individuals in the private sector.

 

 


Award Details

The awards will be given to individuals of high moral and ethical standing who have made significant HR contributions to their organization over the past year. Nominees should have demonstrated the value of the HR function with the organization through implementation of best practices, organization design and effectiveness, and alignment and accomplishment of the strategic direction of the organization. Nominees should also have a proven track record of giving back to the community and the HR profession.

One award will be given in each of three categories based on employer size: less than 100 employees, 100-500 employees, and over 500.

The awards are published statewide and locally. Award winners will be announced and honored at WMC Policy Day in August 2019 at Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center in Madison.

Nominations will open for the 3rd Annual Human Resources Professional of the Year Awards in late spring 2019.

Award Criteria

Winners will be selected by an independent panel of judges representing industry, employment law attorneys, HR professionals, and state government.

Nominations must be based on professional accomplishments from 2018-2019, and can be by self-nomination, peer, subordinate, supervisor or other. Submissions must include a support letter from an appropriate supervisor, manager or officer of the organization where the nominee is employed, along with a 1-2 page document that includes:

  • Years in current position
  • Years with Company/Organization
  • Years in the Human Resources profession
  • A detailed narrative description of the reasons why the individual is being nominated
  • An explanation of the nominee’s significant contribution to his/her organization, including demonstrated quantitative or empirical data of the accomplishments and their impact on the strategic initiatives of the organization unit
  • An updated detailed CV or resume (optional)
  • A complete list of all publications and significant speaking engagements, if any
  • A complete list of all community and/or HR profession service

Along with the nomination materials, the nominee’s employer’s logo is required (full color, high resolution of 300 dpi or better, formats: .eps, .tif, .psd, .gif, .jpg). E-mail the logo file to creader@wmc.org.
