WMC’s 4th Manufacturing Month Video Highlights the Economic Impact of Manufacturing

MADISON – Gov. Scott Walker proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month, and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) will be promoting the state’s top industry throughout October. Each week, a new video will highlight a different theme: Veterans, Supply Chain, Apprenticeships, Economic Impact of Manufacturing and the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.

Manufacturing is the number one contributor to Wisconsin’s booming economy, producing more than $59 billion in total output in 2017 – nearly 20 percent of Wisconsin’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Additionally, the state’s more than 9,000 manufacturers employed nearly 470,000 people in 2017.
The fourth video in WMC’s series for Manufacturing Month focuses on the strength of Wisconsin’s economy and the economic impact manufacturing brings to the state. The effect this industry has impacts a large part of communities in the state, individuals, their families, outlying states, countries, etc. and even plays positive role in education.
