Voters Oppose Plan When Told Of Job Losses
MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the Wisconsin Restaurant Association and Wisconsin Grocers Association will hold a news conference Wednesday to detail voter attitudes on the minimum wage, and academic research that shows the proposed wage hike will cost the state thousands of jobs.
Democrat gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke and legislative Democrats have proposed a $10.10 an hour state minimum wage, up from $7.25 an hour.
