COURSE OVERVIEW
Fall protection continues to be on OSHA’s most frequently sited serious violations list. In 2011, there were 666 fatal falls in the nation, a 14% increase from the previous year.  This awareness session covers the primary causes of falls and methods to protect employees from falling to lower levels. Common locations where falls occur will also be discussed. Topics will include ways to eliminate falls through the use of guardrails, covers, restraints, etc. This course will also cover ways to provide fall protection including the proper selection, inspection, and use of fall arrest equipment and safety nets.

This course will provide participants with information needed to understand the hazards of working at elevation levels and safety measures to protect workers.

This course is designed for anyone with health and safety responsibilities, in general industry and construction work, maintenance employees, department managers and business owners.

INSTRUCTOR

John has been working in the safety industry since 1978 and incorporated Lighthouse Safety, LLC in 1995. His many years in sales and service, combined with his extensive educational pursuits, have afforded John a unique perspective and approach to working with manufacturers, end users and distributors with regards to their fall protection and confined space applications. The primary aspects of John’s consulting practice include analyzing needs, identifying solutions, recommending the correct equipment, and providing customized training for his customers.
